Monday - February 5th 2007
The 2nd Charrett will develop the ideas and concepts for the expansion project. We will discuss possible designs, problems, and solutions. See an earlier news date for more information about what facilities will be going into the new RWC Expansion.

The 1st Charrett has been completed. Please read below for the goals and established information of the initial Charrett workshop.
1 st Charrett Workshop goals:
Establish Vision for future of Recreation at UCF
Strategies to optimize existing facility
Determine what will be in Phase II
Align Phase II with the budget
What does the next phase look like
Current site will hold up to 200,000 sq./ft.
Phase II expansion could possibly put us at 120,000 sq./ft.
Master Plan goal is to have 300,000 sq./ft. total, 200k at the current location and 100k at a satellite area on campus. (TBD)
Current spaces will be:
Fitness Space increased
New MAC Gym (Multipurpose Activity Court )
Outdoor Adventure Center

The Recreation and Wellness Center is currently planning the Phase II Indoor Expansion process.
This project is being funded by student CITF funds and is anticipated to open SPring 2009.
